A Beautiful Mothers Day

My Mothers Day was absolutely beautiful! Jason and the kids surprised me with an iPod Nano! I had no idea what it was but I absolutely LOVE it!! It has so many features so it's more than just a music player. We enjoyed a nice breakfast together and then headed up to the National Zoo in DC. I really enjoyed the day with Jay and the kids. They made it really special!! We had a good time walking around seeing the animals and our favorite was where we saw all the sea life. That was very cool and we even got a little tour behind the scenes! We had a lot of fun!

Our New Place

Adventures with Chocolate Bear

Every week at Caiti's new preschool they have a "Star Student" and the Star Student gets to bring home the class bear. His name is Chocolate Bear. They bring him (her, according to Caiti) home for the weekend and write a story, along with pictures of their weekend together. Along with that, the Star Student also gets to bring show-n-tell to school everyday that week, they can bring in a special treat for the whole class and the get to make an "All About Me" poster. We were excited to learn that Caiti was chosen to be Star Student and that we were able to share a weekend with Chocolate Bear. Their weekend together started on Thursday and she took him back to school on Monday. Here are some pictures of Caiti and Chocolate Bear's adventures!
On Thursday, Jay and I picked Caiti up from Miss Jeannie's house. This was the day Jay had his PRK Surgery. Caiti was so excited to tell us about Chocolate Bear! Caiti and Chocolate Bear were exhausted from school so when we got home, they took a nap.

Friday morning, Caiti and Chocolate Bear woke up and enjoyed a yummy breakfast together. Caiti fed Chocolate Bear some eggs! We had a long day ahead of us so it was important for everyone to eat a good meal!

After breakfast we all headed up to Bethesda to take Daddy to his eye appointment. Caiti and Chocolate Bear enjoyed seeing the inside of the hospital!
After Daddy's appointment we went to the mall to get some shoes for Cory and Caitlyn. Chocolate Bear helped Caiti pick out some cute sandals!
When we got home, Caiti wanted to take Chocolate Bear for a ride on her bike. They both had a lot of fun out there!!

Saturday morning, Caiti had a picture appointment and Chocolate Bear got to join us! After her appointment we went over to Walmart to pick up a few things. Caiti was showing Chocolate Bear all the yummy treats at Walmart!
After running errands all morning, we joined some friends at the park...here Chocolate Bear is swinging in the swing!
Caitlyn had a lot of fun with Chocolate Bear! I was afraid that she'd throw a fit when it was time to give him back but she was so good about everything!

So Far Behind...

It's been 3 months since I last posted...my apologies! Things have been nonstop here!! Once February rolled around we began to prepare for our move from out in town to a safer place on base. We are currently living in our new place on base and everyone is much happier here! It was a very stressful move; more stressful than a cross-country move!! Unpacking one house while cleaning another is not an easy task! Especially when still having to play the role as Mommy and wife! Nothing stops, ha! After about 4 days of cleaning and unpacking we were pretty much settled into the new place. I had about two days to try and catch up on any relaxation before the kids and I left for New York to visit my sister and her kids. We had hoped Baby #3 would have made her entrance while we were there but no such luck! Looks like we'll have to take another trip back, ha! Now that we are all back home we are battling with colds and allergies! Cory and Caiti have returned back to school after their week long Spring Break and I am home still trying to go through a few boxes left to unpack. I hope to have some pictures up of the new house before we move again, ha!! Just a few more touches and the house will be complete!

More updates to come...

Prayer Requests...

Two of our friends left this week for a tour in Okinawa, Japan.
Josh (on the left) and Brian (on the right) are very dear friends of ours and we are asking that you all keep them in your prayers, as well as their families. They both have young children at home who will be missing their daddy's very much, as will their wives. We pray that this deployment will go by very fast and that God's loving hands will comfort each of them every single day. These are two amazing marines and their families are just as amazing! God bless them, their families and the rest of the marines and sailors who are with them.

We love you SSGT Kuhs and SSGT Johnson!

New Years Bowling

We spent our New Years day with some family bowling! We didn't venture out on New Years Eve so we thought we'd take the kids out for some fun the following day. We went bowling, had pizza then played a few games in the arcade! It was a great family day and the kids had a lot of fun!! Jay got a little competitive because I was beating him BIG time, ha ha!! I bowled my best game and Jay tried so hard to catch up! He even used his famous curve ball but that didn't help much either, ha ha!!

Beeman-Evans-Haigh Christmas!

4 years ago was when we had a Christmas like this. This wasn't quite like the one we had 4 years ago due to changes in our family, Mom was unfortunately not able to be here. However, this was a wonderful Christmas. We had a full house and enjoyed every minute together. Dad flew in on the 23rd, which was a day earlier than our original plan (thanks to the weather!!). It was a blessing to have that extra day!

Christmas Eve...the kids opening two gifts each and a stocking!

Late Christmas Eve night Christy and her family arrived! We put all the kids to bed then 4 hours later the two little girls were up peeking at the presents, ha ha! I put them both back to bed and two short hours later all the kids were up and ready!!! Once the coffee was made we got started on presents! Grandad began handing out the gifts then had help from Jay because there were so many!!

The day after Christmas we all took a trip up to DC to see Arlington National Cemetery, the Lincoln Memorial and then had dinner at TGI Fridays! It was a fun day!!

Dad left on Sunday along with Christy and her family. We took Dad to the airport and it was a tough goodbye.

I am so thankful I was able to spend this Christmas with my family. I do wish that my mom could have been a part of everything but I know there are many more days in the year that will provide us an opportunity to see her. I loved spending this quality time with my dad. It's been a long time since I've had one on one time with my dad and I really enjoyed it.
