Incredible Women

The last two duty stations that we have lived at have been wonderful for many reasons and one of those reasons is the group of women I was blessed to be able to spend my time with! Here at Quantico I met many amazing women who were right by my side thru many different situations! From our ladies nights to the major surgery...these women were right there when I needed them! We shared many laughs, tears and created a lot of great memories! With each of them, I share a close bond. I love each and every one of them and thank God for giving me such amazing friends who will always hold a special place in my heart!

Anna, Jenny, Candice, Jeannie, Jessica, Alex, Ashely (and Michelle-not pictured)....You all are an incredible group of women! You have touched my life in many ways. You all have always brought a smile to my face even when I didn't feel like smiling. When I had my surgery you all were right there to lend a hand wherever it was needed. When I went thru my cancer scare you all lifted me up and help take my fears away. When I was stressed about my sisters health issues you all offered up many prayers and so much support for me and someone not all of you know. When I felt like having a night out you ladies joined me. When I wanted to stuff my face at whatever eating place you all joined me. You've had my back in so many ways and for that I will always love you girls!!!!!!!!!!!! When I think of Quantico, I will think of you all! Thank you for all the wonderful memories, for all the love and support and for being my friends!

A Bittersweet Day

Here we are having another farewell party with the many wonderful friends we've made at our 4th duty station! We try to have a get together with our close friends everytime we are set to leave a duty station.  This time God blessed us with an day where the weather could not have been more perfect! It was such a beautiful day! We just spent the day hanging out, chatting and eating lots of good food as the kids played for hours in the playground! It was a great final hoorah with our friends!

It's Almost Time

Here we are...it's our last weekend in this house. The last two years have gone by so quickly and ever since we received the orders, time has just been flying by!! I remember thinking "wow, we've got two months until we are out of here." Now here we are with only 5 days until they come pack us up, 7 days until they drive our stuff away and 15 days until we are on the road heading back to California.  I think the Marine Corps knows we are such an easy family and will go anywhere. We have never had a simple move, haha! Coast to Coast every single time! Good thing the kids are getting older...it makes road trips that much easier! We have loved every minute spent here in this house. A lot of great memories were made here. Fun moments, scary moments and most definitely a lot of laughs!!

Beautiful Day

Today the kids had a random day off from school and it was oh-so-beautiful outside so I decided to take the kids out. We went to walk around Downtown Fredericksburg. Talk about a great day! Not only was the weather absolutely incredible, the little things Downtown Fredericksburg had to offer and the laughs I had with the kids made this day lovely. We just walked thru the town, went in a couple stores, talked, giggled and enjoyed every minute together! The simple things are always best!

Caiti took these last two pictures.... She loves taking pictures, just like her Mama! :)

Jumbo Pizza & Cupcakes!

Jay & I decided to take a final trip up to the DC area to try out some of the Jumbo pizza they have to offer in the Adams Morgan area and then head over to Georgetown Cupcakes (aka DC Cupcakes on TLC).  The pizza place we initially intended on visiting was not open (due to contruction) so we headed down the street to another place and it turned out to be a great choice! Their pizza was so delicious, greasy and HUGE! Definitely a JUMBO slice of pizza!!!  We all enjoyed our slices!!

After finishing our pizza we headed over to Georgetown Cupcakes! This cupcake store is featured in a show on TLC called DC Cupcakes! I have been wanting to visit here for the longest time and today my hubby made that possible! I LOVE HIM! We thought for sure we were going to be in line for a LONG time but ended up only standing in the 43 degree weather for 10 minutes! We got in and boy was it crowded but so worth all the shoving and squeezing by people! LOL!!  They had 21 flavors...all specials for Saturday! So we thought we'd go ahead and try them all!! They were all so pretty and looked oh so delicious so it would have been too hard to choose, ha! We got our $63 worth of cupcakes and headed home! Tonight we will have our dear friends over for a CUPCAKE PARTY!!!

Another 4 Years

On Febuary 3, 2012, Jason re-enlisted for another 4 years in the United States Marine Corps! He is such a stellar Marine. Many of the junior marines that work under him tell him how they look up to him. How he is one of the most admirable Marines they've known and enjoyed working under. He was just told by a Cpl. the other day that he admired GySgt Evans because he has the ability to work through any situation with a sense of calming and self-control. He never flies off the handle when a tough situation presents itself.  This junior marine admired how well Jason handled his job as a Marine.  It made me proud!!
Jason has now been in the Marine Corps for 14 years and 6 months. This August he will hit his 15 year mark!! He is so close to being done....BUT.....I don't think I want that day to come! I absolutely LOVE being a Marine Corps wife...it's in my blood!!! We now have another 4 years (with a possible extension around the end to push him to exactly 20 years) and then who knows what will happen after that. All I know is that this man is by far the most incredible Marine I have ever known and I love him and I couldn't be prouder of him.
Now, these are not pictures from his re-enlistment. Unfortunately, I could not be there as I was in NY taking care of my sister. These are just some pictures that I took a couple months ago...kind of fitting to the whole re-enlistment. They were taken outside of the Marine Corps Museum which is where Jason originally planned his re-enlistment but since we could not attend he cancelled that and had it over at OCS.

Jason, I am so proud of you...for all that you do, all that you give and the many countless ways you love & provide for this family. The daily sacrifice you make to protect and care for us is what makes me love you so deeply. I am proud to be your wife and I will continue to be behind you every step of the way as you continue your journey through the Marine Corps and every step after that! I love you!
