What an amazing show!

Today here on base we were treated with a show by "The Commandant's Own" The United States Marine Drum and Bugle Corps and The United States Marine Corps Silent Drill Team. It was amazing! I have never had the chance to experience anything like this and am so glad I finally got to. Me and the kids went out today and sat in the hot sun and watched them perform.

The Bugle Corps played a variety of songs. They were very talented! They did what is called "Music in Motion" and that was great to watch. The way they moved around as they played their instruments really showed off their talent. They travel all over and do shows on different bases. Anybody who has the opportunity to see them should take it!

The Silent Drill Team did a great job as well! Just as the Bugle Corps began to leave the center of the field the Silent Drill team came in as silent as ever! They were so together and in-sync. Watching them gave me chills. The way they tossed around their rifles and stepped around showed great coordination. These guys have a great talent!

All this was topped off with the Color Gaurd ending the show. I've seen them numerous times but it never gets old! Hearing the presenting of the colors makes me so proud to be a Military wife. I just wish I could have shared this moment along with Jason.

Seeing all the Marines salute and stand at attention when the Color Gaurd presents the colors I thank God that I am where I am. The men and women of our Armed Forces are some of the strongest individuals I know. The sacrafices they make are unforgetable.

This day was a day me and the kids will remember. I hope we get to see many more performances like this on our journey as a military family!

What we look forward to...

Is a phone call from daddy!!! And when we recieve them we cherish that moment as if it were our last. These past 3 1/2 weeks have been tough but by the grace of God they have gone by quick! I truly hope that next 26 1/2 weeks go by just as fast!

When we get phone calls the kids are super excited to talk to their Daddy. Cory enjoys telling him all about his day and the things he wishes Daddy was here for. He brags about how well he is doing in basketball and how much Mommy is spoiling him here!

Caitlyn tells Daddy all about the princess movies she's watched over and over. She talks about her toys and her brother. He may not catch everything she says but I know just hearing her talk to him makes him smile and laugh.

The way my kids eyes light up when they hear Daddy's voice makes me smile. Telling him they love and miss him breaks my heart at times but I know it makes my husband feel so good and so much closer. I wish phone calls didn't have to be the way we communicate at times but it is all we look forward to while we are apart.

SURPRISE!!!!

Happy Birthday Cindy and Nelly!!!

On February 11 my great friend, Carolyn threw me and our friend Nelly a wonderful surprise birthday party. She took the time to get everyone we knew together to throw a celebration for Nelly and I. It was a lot of fun! Carolyn made a yummy dish and lots of desserts. We opened gifts and then just hung out and talked for a little while. I got some great gifts!

Thank you girls for all the wonderful things! I will definitely smell nice for when Jason comes home! I really wish he could have been there to celebrate with me...that would have been the only thing I wished for on my birthday.

Turning 28 has not made me feel any different. I still feel so young...guess it's these wonderful ladies I have around me, ha! I have truly been blessed to have them in my life. Things like this really make me realize how lucky I am. Even though my husband was not here to join in on the fun Carolyn and the other girls made this a birthday to remember.

Thanks again, Carolyn for doing this! You are an awesome girl!

A little introduction

Well, after seeing some friends have one of these I thought it might be fun to do. I hope I do it right! This is just a blogspot about our family. Our Family consists of Jason, Cindy, Cory and Caitlyn. We also have our two pets, Suzi and Max. So in our blogs you will see different things about every one of us.

Right now we are living in the hot desert in California. We just moved back to California after spending 4 years in Orlando, Florida. Before that we were stationed at Camp Pendleton, Ca. Jason is a US Marine and is currently serving duty in Iraq. We just said goodbye only a few days ago. I am a stay at home mom. My days are never ending! I enjoy being at home but soon I will be ready to go back to work! Cory is now in Kindergarten here at a school on base. He is playing basketball for a team here on base. He is with the Spurs. They have played two games already and they have done well. Tied up their last one....Go Spurs!! He did a little wrestling but once basketball started wrestling was not as important to him! Caitlyn is home with me all day. She enjoys doing anything and everything as long as I'm right there with her. We are starting on the potty training with her right now. A goal we'd like to reach before Daddy comes home. Suzi is our Boston Terrier. She is 5 years old and has been with us since she was a puppy. She was a gift from my husband. She is a great dog. We also have an orange tabby named Max. He was a homeless kitten that we took in and have made him part of our family. Suzi and Max are best friends!

We are just your everyday average family that enjoys the simple things in life. We love the Lord and live according to how He would want. I will be posting blogs on here as things happen in our lives so continue to take a peek! God Bless you all!
