Jumbo Pizza & Cupcakes!

Jay & I decided to take a final trip up to the DC area to try out some of the Jumbo pizza they have to offer in the Adams Morgan area and then head over to Georgetown Cupcakes (aka DC Cupcakes on TLC).  The pizza place we initially intended on visiting was not open (due to contruction) so we headed down the street to another place and it turned out to be a great choice! Their pizza was so delicious, greasy and HUGE! Definitely a JUMBO slice of pizza!!!  We all enjoyed our slices!!

After finishing our pizza we headed over to Georgetown Cupcakes! This cupcake store is featured in a show on TLC called DC Cupcakes! I have been wanting to visit here for the longest time and today my hubby made that possible! I LOVE HIM! We thought for sure we were going to be in line for a LONG time but ended up only standing in the 43 degree weather for 10 minutes! We got in and boy was it crowded but so worth all the shoving and squeezing by people! LOL!!  They had 21 flavors...all specials for Saturday! So we thought we'd go ahead and try them all!! They were all so pretty and looked oh so delicious so it would have been too hard to choose, ha! We got our $63 worth of cupcakes and headed home! Tonight we will have our dear friends over for a CUPCAKE PARTY!!!

Another 4 Years

On Febuary 3, 2012, Jason re-enlisted for another 4 years in the United States Marine Corps! He is such a stellar Marine. Many of the junior marines that work under him tell him how they look up to him. How he is one of the most admirable Marines they've known and enjoyed working under. He was just told by a Cpl. the other day that he admired GySgt Evans because he has the ability to work through any situation with a sense of calming and self-control. He never flies off the handle when a tough situation presents itself.  This junior marine admired how well Jason handled his job as a Marine.  It made me proud!!
Jason has now been in the Marine Corps for 14 years and 6 months. This August he will hit his 15 year mark!! He is so close to being done....BUT.....I don't think I want that day to come! I absolutely LOVE being a Marine Corps wife...it's in my blood!!! We now have another 4 years (with a possible extension around the end to push him to exactly 20 years) and then who knows what will happen after that. All I know is that this man is by far the most incredible Marine I have ever known and I love him and I couldn't be prouder of him.
Now, these are not pictures from his re-enlistment. Unfortunately, I could not be there as I was in NY taking care of my sister. These are just some pictures that I took a couple months ago...kind of fitting to the whole re-enlistment. They were taken outside of the Marine Corps Museum which is where Jason originally planned his re-enlistment but since we could not attend he cancelled that and had it over at OCS.

Jason, I am so proud of you...for all that you do, all that you give and the many countless ways you love & provide for this family. The daily sacrifice you make to protect and care for us is what makes me love you so deeply. I am proud to be your wife and I will continue to be behind you every step of the way as you continue your journey through the Marine Corps and every step after that! I love you!

12 Years Later

12 years ago today, Jason and I said 'I do' in front of those we love.  We were only 20 years old and we were excited about our new life that we were starting together.  We had so much we wanted to accomplish.  The road we've been on since that day has been the most beautiful ride ever! We were blessed with two amazing children, we've endured many adventures thanks to the USMC and we have made so many beautiful memories!! There is nothing I would change about our life together.  God knew what he was doing when he brought us together. I love that God has a plan and knows exactly where we are supposed to be and who we are meant to be with.  I love my life with this man and that love has only become deeper and stronger over the last 12 years!!   I look forward to many more years with him and many more adventures!

TIGERS!

Cory and his football team, the Stafford JPW Tigers, ended their 2011 season Nov. 5 at the VAYFA Championship Games.  They had an incredible season but suffered a great loss in the end.  However, these boys fought the whole way through and they should be so proud that they made it as far as they did!! This is a great group of boys and I am very proud of every one of them!

Investiture Ceremony

Caiti was sworn in to Girl Scouts so now she officially a Daisy! She was so cute getting up there reciting her oath.  She was being so shy but she did great! The Bell family and The Webb family came out to watch Caiti.  She was so happy they got to come! It meant a lot to her and us!!
