A Whirlwind of Events

In this blog I am just going to share what's been going on over the past 5 months. From the last blog I posted in May up until now. Enjoy...

In June my friend Jessica and I threw a halfway there party for the wives of Echo Co. 1st, 2nd and 3rd Platoons. The night was a lot of fun. We played games; had prizes for the girl with the most pink on because our theme was Pink is Pimp and we had good food and yummy treats along with some margaritas and daquiris to help take our minds of things!

This is the group shot.

On June 19th my dear friend, Jessica, turned 29!!! So Melanie, Jenn and I got together to throw her a party. The four of us enjoyed sharing in Jessica's day. We showered her with many fun gifts, had cake and food. We then headed over to the bowling alley for some more fun!

On June 29th the kids and I headed out of 29 Palms to enjoy a fun month long vacation in Minnesota. We went to visit my parents while Jason was still deployed. What a busy month we had! We enjoyed every minute of it. We went to a Minnesota Twins Game (pic below); went and saw a beautiful waterfall; went to the Mall of America about a dozen times (my favorite place) and many other exciting things.

We also went downtown and walked around and saw all the different dinosaurs they had sitting around. The kids really enjoyed this. Each one is painted different and it was very interesting to see all the different places and things painted on these dinosaurs.

We also were there to celebrate my Dad's birthday. A few days early but we were there. He turned 50 so we had an over the hill theme. He got a good laugh out of that. Although he snuck in thru another door so we didn't surprise him too much!

Cory and Caitlyn got to see their cousins, Jaxon and Madison. It was great to see how much they've all grown and how much fun they could have together. They all enjoyed eachother. This is a picture of them at the zoo.

While there in Minnesota my sister and I had a girls night out. We went and played pool, had a few drinks then decided..."Hey let's go get tattoos!!" So we headed out to find a parlor and we got lucky! I got this and my sister got one with a butterfly with her kids initials. What a fun night. Watching eachother in pain was pretty entertaining, ha!

As soon as we got back from Minnesota I quickly got started on getting Jay's welcome home signs together and headed to put them out. We made a total of around 10 signs. The pic below is me putting up the 2nd and 3rd Platoon Signs. Jenn and I had a blast going and around and putting these up. Her husband was not deployed with Jason but I wanted her to be a part of this and she was more than welcome to join me!

These are the signs that the kids made.

These are the cups that my dear friend Jenn and I put up. They say I Love You Sugarbear.

After I put my last sign up I saw this sunset and thought it was beautiful. Made me think of Jason.

Soon after the signs were all put up it was time for Jason to come home! He arrived home on August 22nd and that was a day made in heaven. Everything about that day was wonderful. My husband was coming home and I had 3 of my best friends with me to share it with. The kids were so excited and just couldn't wait to see their Daddy.

Here is Jason just as he got off the bus. His face shows how happy he was!

Being in his arms felt soooooo good!

While I was away in Minnesota my dear friend Jenn J. gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named Briana. She is such a little angel.

In September our family took a trip out to Big Bear along with The Rathbun Family. We enjoyed ourselves even though we ended the day in the E.R. . Caitlyn got a fish hook caught in her ear so we had to end our day short. Hopefully we can go back...it was beautiful there!

Jason's parents came to visit us in September. We enjoyed having them. Don and I did lots of shopping while Jay and his dad spent time here at home. The kids loved having their Grandma and Papa here.

We had a Welcome Home BBQ for Jason. Invited a few close friends and spent the evening talking, drinking and playing Redneck Horseshoes. It was a lot of fun!

On Sept. 30th we took a trip out to Yucaipa, Ca to visit a 7.5 acre Pumpkin Patch. One where you can actually go out and cut off your own pumpkin. What a blast! We shared the day with the Johnson Family.

On October 6th Jason and I threw a surprise birthday party for Jenn. We had her husband in on the secret. I kept her kids the night prior so she had no choice but to come to my house and when she got here she was SURPRISED!! We invited her friends and had a wonderful night and followed it with a few games of bowling.

This is the cake...before I smashes some in Jenn's face!!

Jason is actually away at IULC right now. It's a course he is taking down at Camp Pendleton and he is required to stay there but is allowed to come home on the weekends. Well, the first weekend he was down there the kids and I headed down. Miramar was having it's annual Air Show and we wanted to go. So we got a hotel room in Escondido and stayed the weekend. We also went around Escondido and reminisced. That is where Jason and I lived when we got our first apartment together before we got married.

This is us at the Air Show.

I also got to see a very dear friend of mine from high school, Emmie. I haven't seen her in years so it was nice to get the chance to spend some time. She brought me a gift...it was a scrapbook she had made of the Evans life over the years. I absolutely loved it!!

The kids and I had a day at the park. Cory is still going strong on his skateboard. They are growing so much. This is one of their favorite parks and now that it's cooling off some I can take them more!

Well, that is pretty much everything that has been going on here. Those were some of the major events that went on. Now that I've caught you all up I will be updating this more often!
