Today I took Cory and Caitlyn over to the East Gym here on base for what's called "Kids PFT". It was a two hour event put on for children with a deployed parent. It was amazing!! Some single marines stationed here were asked if they would like to volunteer their time and come spend it with some children whose daddys (or mommys) were deployed. They spent the entire two hours running around with a bunch of fully energized kids. Some said it was way more tiring than Marine PFT, LOL!! But they all had such a good time and the kids were so excited!! We can't wait for next months PFT!
Here are some pictures from today...
Cory playing football with one of the marines.

Caitlyn playing ball with another marine.

Playing bean bag toss.

He had such a good time playing basketball with the guys!

Briana and one of the marines. She loved him!!

Caitlyn playing catch.

She had so much fun with this guy!

He was bouncing her from ball to ball.

She knocked him over with the big bouncy ball.

Playing with the parachute!

Caitlyn running under.

Cory learning lay-ups.

Brittany and Matthew having way too much fun!

Caitlyn in the firetruck.

I was so impressed with how well these marines interacted with the kids. It was really nice of them to share their time with the kids. At the beginning it was hard to see the kids playing with other men but by the end of all of it I really did have a new found appreciation for what these guys do for their "brothers". It's very touching to see how marines take care of eachother even if they don't know eachother.
