We Salute You 2007

On Saturday here at MGAGCC 29 Palms we were treated to a free concert with performances by Big and Rich featuring Cowboy Troy. What an amazing show. And to be surrounded by the men and women who deserve it most made the evening that much better.

It was a free concert with free BBQ and drinks. Of course for you beer drinkers it cost, ha! It was held at Victory Field here on base and was a closed gate event. It went from 4pm till 10pm.

Myself, the kids and my friend, Jessica and her son headed out to the concert to meet up with some other friends of ours...Miss J (Jennifer) and Jackie as well as Jennifers kids. We posted up in a great spot...Thanks Jenn and Jackie!! Pretty much 3rd row seating!! We laid our blankets out and put up our chairs.
We sat down, had some yummy BBQ and talked while the kids played as we waited for the show to start.

Here are my friends...Jessica with her son Gavin and Jennifer with her son Matthew.

Cory and Caitlyn had so much fun listening to the music and playing with their friends. I, on the other hand, had a hard time. I had a few tearful moments. The songs, seeing the families together, hearing the prayers and just being around all the other Marines in their uniforms made it very hard for me. I enjoyed myself because I knew Jason would have wanted me to have fun as well as staying strong for my kids. I am very glad we took the time to be a part of this.

Thank you USO, Big and Rich and Cowboy Troy!!!
